Particularly popular destinations for hiking are the Strani Hill and the Mount Skopos, where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the island or the trail of Yperagathos, where you will find the homonymous abandoned monastery. Alternatively, you can choose one of the island’s numerous cycling routes, while you can also cycle around the National Marine Park of Zakynthos and enjoy a bike ride through the lush coniferous trees near the sea. You can also visit the numerous museums in Zakynthos town and some of the most imposing churches of the Ionian Islands such as Agia Mavra, the church of Agios Markos and the monastery of Panagia Anafonitria.
